  • Lava fields

Icelandic lava fields create amazing landscapes where you will feel as if you have just arrived on another planet.

These are vast areas full of black rocks or stones from dried lava ejected many years ago by a volcano.

Among the most popular attractions is Dimmuborgir with its interestingly shaped, unique rock formations, which are called the Black Fortress for a reason.

Another unique site is Lóndrangar – two basalt lava pillars tens of meters high. The surroundings, where the deep black of the rocks mix with the intense green of the moss and the growing trail, create unearthly fairy-tale scenery and you definitely can’t miss them!
