  • Lake Myvatn region

The Myvatn region has an interesting geological history and offers breathtaking views.

In addition to the beautiful lake of the same name surrounded by unique lava formations, you will discover many other amazing attractions in the area. Right next to the lake is, among others, a lava cave with a hot spring flowing inside. Not much farther away is a bubbling geothermal area, the scenery of which will delight more than just science-fiction movie fans! To the north of the lake lies Krafla, a spectacular volcanic system with a milky-blue crater lake.

If you’ve found yourself in the north of Iceland and the weather isn’t to your liking, you can relax in one of the surrounding towns such as Akureyri or Husavik and go to a whale museum, for example.

Relaxing in the complex of the surrounding natural geothermal pools of Myvatn will also prove to be an excellent option.
