  • Icelandic animals

Iceland’s climate is very harsh and demanding, with high annual precipitation and incessant wind even in the summer season. However, such harsh conditions do not prevent the numerous animal species that inhabit this unique island!

Among the top specimens that can be admired on it are whales. Whale watching cruises are one of Iceland’s biggest attractions. Seeing these huge, stately aquatic mammals with your own eyes is an amazing experience.

In many places on the island, you can expect to see seals lazily lounging on the ice or beaches. Some hidden corners are also home to Arctic foxes and reindeer.

Sheep and millions of various species of birds reign throughout the island. It is here that you also have a chance to see the beautiful, distinctive puffins.
