  • Hot pools

Underground volcanic activity in Iceland often finds its way to the surface, creating hot springs. Bathing in such a place is a must on the list of things to do for anyone visiting this beautiful island. For some, it’s even a mandatory point of every day spent in Iceland!

There’s probably nothing more enjoyable than stepping into the relaxing, hot outdoor water after a long day of hiking. Waterfalls, glaciers and volcanoes are all very interesting, but for many people it is bathing in hot springs that is the most wonderful memory from Iceland.

Thermal springs can be found in natural reservoirs, such as the caldera of a volcano or a mountain stream. You can also find them in official thermal pools or a wide selection of more or less popular spas.
