  • Sundlaugin á Hofsósi (literally, swimming pool at Hofsos) is a beautifully located modern hot tub. Built on a hillside above the sea, it provides a breathtaking view of the fjord and Drangey Island. If you’re lucky, you can also spot from it… whales swimming in the ocean.

    Sundlaugin á Hofsósi – tips and practical information

    • The pool was built in 2008-2009 and is 25 meters long and 20.5 meters wide and 0.8 meters to 1.8 meters deep.
    • The facility offers the possibility to rent:
      -swimsuit at a price of 665 ISK (about 22 PLN),
      -towel at a price of 665 ISK (about 22 zloty).

    Ticket prices

    • Children under 6 years of age – free of charge.
    • Children and teenagers from 6 to 18 years – 300 ISK (about 10 PLN).
    • Children and teenagers – 300 ISK (about 10 PLN).
    • Adults – 1000 ISK (about 32 PLN).
    • Persons with disabilities – 300 ISK (about 10 PLN).
    • Persons with disabilities – 300 ISK (about 10 PLN).

    Opening hours

    • Summer season (June 1 to August 31):
      -Monday-Friday: 07:00 – 21:00;
      -weekends: 07:00 – 21:00.
    • September:
      -Monday-Friday: 07:00 – 20:00.
      -weekends: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • October 1 – May 31:
      -Monday-Friday: 07:00 – 13:00 and 17:00 – 20:00;
      -weekends: 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

    Sundlaugin á Hofsósi, true to its name, is located in Hofsos. It is a town about 50 kilometers north of Varmahlíð on Highway 1, west of Akureyri.
