Afangi is a mountain hut located on the F35 road. Nearby is a viewpoint of the artificial Blöndulón Lake (57 km2) serving the nearby Blöndstöd power plant. The power plant itself is located in a safe room at a depth of more than 200 meters.
For motorized tourists, the nearby Hveravellir, which lies not far to the south, or the Kerlingarfjoll, which lies a little farther away and in the Asgardur mountains, are certainly more interesting.
For hikers and cyclists, on the other hand, Afangi is a good stop on the way to or from Hveravellir or Kerlingarfjoll.
